Birthday

Last night we were out celebrating my mom's birthday. Her birthday was on Wednesday, but yesturday she made us all go to Jamestown. I don't know exactly where we were, but it was pretty, except for the whole it's not sunny anymore thing. We were there for a couple of hours, but I basically missed the whole thing, because I stayed in the car so I could sleep. All of a sudden we are back in the car and it's 5:30. I still thought it was 3:30. It was very confusing. On the way home, we stopped for dinner, which is what we usually do. We are sitting on the second floor porch of the resturaunt, eating our appetizers of potato skins, when an annoying buzzer starts to sound. I look around and see in the resturant a flashing to go with the buzzer. Fire alarm? What the hell? I want to eat my potato skins in peace. I finished mine, and then I heard a voice that told the whole resturant to file out the back staircase. Everyone starts to leave, and I ask my parents "Shouldn't we leave?" My dad says that he is going to finish his bacon before he's going anywhere. Everybody has left, and there are only the waiters, some people at the porch bar, and us still in the building. Our waiter tells us leave, but we can wait in the parking lot, because it is only a small fire. We are in the parking lot, and the fire department shows up, and finally the alarm stops. We file back in, and the resturant is now much less crowded. Apparently one of the ovens in the kitchen downstairs stopped working and caught fire. We were lucky, because our food had just finished cooking when the fire alarm went off. The resturant couldn't cook anything till the health department showed up. Kitchen was closed, but we still got food. I didn't get to have my brownie sundae though. That was depressing.
